Knockbreda Cemetary

 

KNOCKBREDA CEMETERY

The Council is responsible for the management of Knockbreda Cemetery. Knockbreda new cemetery was first established in 1905 by Knockbreda Parish Church. The administration and management of the cemetery passed to Castlereagh Borough Council in 1985. The Cemetery currently contains in excess of 6,500 grave plots.

The cemetery is open to the public from dawn until dusk, every day,  365 days per year.

CEMETERY OFFICE OPENING HOURS

                               8.00a.m. – 4.00p.m. Monday – Thursday

                               8.00a.m. – 3.00p.m. Friday

                               10.00a.m. – 12.00 noon Saturday

PLEASE NOTE: 
The cemetery office will be closed Christmas Day and 12th July public holidays.

Boxing Day, Easter Monday and 13th July public holidays the office will be open for burial registration: 8.00a.m. – 12.00 noon.

All other bank and public holidays burial registration hours will be as normal. 

REGISTRATION OF BURIAL: call in person at cemetery office, Knockbreda Cemetery. 

NOTE: for burial registration the following documents must be
produced.
1. The Certificate of Right of Burial for the grave plot or a 
certified duplicate.
2. The form gro21, Certificate of Cremation or Coroner’s Order.
