At Castlereagh Borough Council’s Annual General Meeting on, 22nd June 2010, the Council elected Councillor Vivienne McCoy to serve as Mayor of Castlereagh and Councillor David Drysdale as Deputy Mayor for the civic year 2010/11.
Councillor McCoy has served on the Council for 9 years and succeeds Councillor Lawrence Walker.
Speaking today after her appointment the Mayor said, “I am thrilled and honoured to be elected as Mayor of Castlereagh and look forward to serving the people of the Borough. I have chosen the Neonatal Unit at the Ulster Hospital as my nominated charity for my mayoral year and look forward to the various fund raising events we have planned.”
The Deputy Mayor has also served on the Council for 9 years and succeeds Councillor Michael Copeland.
