The community development officers aim to develop local community and voluntary groups by:

  • Researching and identifying development needs within the community.
  • Ensuring that the needs of the community are reflected in planned work programmes and activities
  • Working as part of a team with other statutory and voluntary bodies
  • Assisting with funding advice and applications
  • Develop community skills and training
  • Promoting active citizenship, capacity building and volunteering within local communities
